High School Vision Driven Learning

TPS High School Vision:

Partnering with each student to connect learning, gifts, and passions in pursuit of a balanced, productive future.

 

High School VDL Goals 2016-2017

Key Goal 1:  Each student pursuing a life vision

Sub goal 1:  At the completion of the modules designed for the student leadership classes, each student will have collaborated with their facilitator, coach, mentor, parents/guardians, and community partner(s) to produce a detailed vision that will include descriptions of desired family relationships, career interests, and their life purpose.  Each student will share their vision with their facilitator, coach, mentor, parents/guardians, and their community partner(s).

  • Plan for Measuring:

               Completion Checklists- Google Forms

               Students will document this in their professional portfolio using ILP.

  • Plan for Meeting:

               Leadership classes levels 1-6

 

Key Goal 2:  Each student accomplishing personal goals

Sub goal 1: Once students have produced detailed visions, they will collaborate with their facilitator, coach, mentor, parents/guardians, and community partner(s) to establish short term and long term goals that are aligned with their visions.  Students will meet with their facilitator/coach to self-monitor their goals.

  • Plan for Measuring:

               Completion Checklists- Google Forms

               Students will document this in their professional portfolio using ILP.

  • Plan for Meeting:

               Leadership classes levels 1-6

 

Key Goal 3:  Leaders as facilitators

Sub goal 1: Throughout the 2016-2017 school year, each facilitator, coach, mentor, parents/guardians, and community partner(s) will promote student engagement and success by providing opportunities for students to develop and strengthen relationships with other students, staff, family, and community members.  Each facilitator, coach, mentor, parents/guardians, and community partner(s) will facilitate student engagement and success by guiding students to create a strong professional portfolio.

  • Plan for Measuring:

HS VDL Basics

High School facilitators, coaches, mentors, parents/guardians, and community partners will work to intentionally pair students with opportunities to achieve their visions. High School facilitators, coaches, mentors, parents/guardians, and community partners will help students build a working portfolio of professional development by teaching career, family and purpose modules in the leadership classrooms, coaching, and mentoring, providing students with job shadowing and service learning experiences, developing and maintaining community connections, and strengthening student Individual Learning Plans. (ILP)
