Important Message from Matt Moore, JCS Superintendent

Important Notice

Dear EJHS Family,

I want to share with you that on February 11, 2019, Mr. Ken Cox will join East Jessamine High School to serve as interim principal for the remainder of the school year.

Many of you may already be familiar with Mr. Cox as he has previously served in various capacities in our district.  Ken was interim principal at both WJMS and WJHS and also served in a support role at EJHS in recent years to assist during a time of administrative transition.  Prior to these positions, Mr. Cox worked as JCS District Athletic Director for a number of years, after a lengthy career with Fayette County as Principal of Tates Creek High School and district Director of High Schools.   Ken is well-versed in school administration and is very familiar with our district, and I know that EJHS will be in extremely capable hands during his time as interim.

I’d like to thank EJHS CRA Chris Hawboldt for his leadership and hard work as temporary interim principal.  With students, families, and staff working in partnership, the EJHS family has accomplished so much and I fully expect that forward momentum to continue.  Our Central Office team will be available as needed to support EJHS during this transition as we all continue to work together to fulfill the EJHS mission of graduating students “with a ticket to postsecondary success.”

Matt Moore

JCS Superintendent

Hello, EJHS Family,

I’m so excited to return to work in Jessamine County Schools and to work with the East Jessamine High School team.  I’ve spent an entire career working with secondary schools in one capacity or another, and there is nothing quite like the energy and enthusiasm of a vibrant and progressive school like EJHS.  I look forward to working with the EJHS administrative team and to seeing long-time friends and acquaintances, as well as making some new ones. During my time as interim, I will do everything that I can to support teachers and staff as we work together to positively impact students’ lives.  I’m also eager to connect with students and their families to learn how we can best support our students as they pursue their passion and purpose in life. I’m committed to using my time with the EJHS team to provide authentic learning experiences with a strong academic focus, providing our students with the best opportunities for success.

My door is always open, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you for the privilege of serving as your interim principal.

Best regards,

Ken Cox

EJHS Interim Principal
