With the formal acceptance of Dr. Lu S. Young’s resignation at our April 22, 2013 meeting, the Jessamine County Board of Education must now start the process of selecting a new superintendent. One of the first steps in this process is the establishment of a screening committee. The screening committee shall be composed of: two teachers, elected by the teachers; one board member, appointed by the board chairman; one principal, elected by the principals; one parent, elected by the presidents of the parent-teacher organizations of the district; and one classified employee, elected by the classified employees (KRS 160.352).
