This week I did...
I am going to use this page to keep everyone in the loop about what's going on in the art room! I will update this page for each new lesson. I will also try to incorporate pictures of the students working, so be sure to check back!
First project: Introduce the Drawing Center. We explored the materials and supplies available in the drawing center. Everyone created a drawing using a media of their choice. The theme "Transporation".
Second project: Introduce the Collage Center. We explored the materials and techniques on how to create a successful collage. Students had the choice to work from the drawing center or the collage center. The theme "Nature"
Third project: Kids Kards Fundraiser. The students created an idividual composition for thier kids kards project. The theme "Winter/Holiday". Students used drawing media to complete this project.
Fourth project: Introduce Painting Center. We explored the materials and supplies available in the painting center. Students had the choice to work from Drawing, Collage or Painting center. The theme "Fantasy"
Fifth project: Introduce Temporary Scuplture Center. The students worked together to create a temporary sculpture using different types of blocks, legos, scultpural pieces. The students then drew thier sculptures that they created.
Grade Specific Projects:
*Jungle Book. I work with a group of students to create the set for the Musicals.
*Colonial Christmas. Students worked on creating traditional colonial crafts to be sold at the marketplace on Dec. 11
*Day of the Dead. Students worked with the Living Arts and Science Center for the community art display for their Day of the Dead Festival. The students created Monarch butterflies for this exhibit. They also went to the Oepra House to see the Bluegrass Youth Ballet perform their Day of the Dead performance.
*Jingle Bell Jamboree. Students created work to be on disply at the Polvino Family Art Center for their holiday exhibit. The twist to this project is they can to complete it upside down.
*Self Portraits. Students took the traditional idea of selp portraits and made them up close and personal.
Sixth project: Art to Remember. Students created their Spring Themed artwork using drawing media for this fundraiser.
