YSC has a bimonthly Advisory Council meeting. The upcoming meeting dates are 3/16/17 and 5/18/17. We meet in room 241 at 4:00. All are welcome!
Youth Service Center Upcoming Programming:
Get Fit Club: Get Fit will be led by Jessamine County’s Cooperative extension office at WJMS from 4:00-5:30pm on 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, and 3/28 in the café or gym. The club focuses on fun games and activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Students will compete in physical activities and learn how to prepare nutritious snacks to “Get Fit.” Registration information will be coming home soon.
Middle School Grandfamilies Support Group Luncheon: 3/9/17 at 12:00 -1:30pm at JCPL. Please join East and West Middle School’s YSC staff and community partners for an opportunity to share with other caregivers the struggles and rewards of parenting a middle schooler. Lunch is provided and giveaways will be handed out at the end of the group. I hope to see all WJMS grandparents raising grandchildren there!
Social Media Mania…Setting Boundaries
Do you feel like your child knows more about social media and the cell phone than you do? You are not alone. Attend this session to learn about 3 key areas you can wrap your arms around to establish healthy boundaries for social media and internet usage. You will come away with practical steps to take at home regarding safety, content and responsibility when you and your family use social media and the internet. Great for parents, grandparents and guardians. March 28th from 6-7pm at the WJMS library.
Parent University: Please join Jessamine County School FRYSC staff for an eight week parenting education group at the YMCA on 220 E. Maple St, Nicholasville from 6- 7:30pm on 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1 and 5/8. More information to come!
