- Music Enrichment is a leadership program for students who exhibit a strong interest in music as well as having a talent in the areas of vocal and/or instrumental music.
- These students meet one hour a week outside of their regular music time to work on performance pieces and special projects for both school and the community.
4th and 5th Grade Music Enrichment:
Thursdays 7:30-8:00 AM
October: This month we are working on a xylophone piece.
We also worked on our choir festival music for our field trip on November 4th!
November: We attended our field trip and performed with the all district elementary choir on Friday, November 4th.
We are working on Colonial Dances and Carols to present and perform at the RDES Colonial Day on Friday, December 9th.
December: We performed for Colonial Day on Friday, December 9th.
We performed at the Eagle Chorus and Enrichment holiday concert on Monday, December 12th.
Students are doing their leadership component and working as helpers at the Penguin Patch the week of December 12th-16th.
January: We are beginning work on some projects we will be presenting in March!
Working on a xylophone project
February - This month we are beginning work on ukuleles! We are learning how to tune our ukulele, strum correctly, basic chords and a couple songs for our upcoming performances!
March - We are preparing for our performances at J's Place & the concert at the end of March!
We are working on song pieces, xyplophone pieces, and ukulele. A couple students will also perform by themselves!

April - We are practicing for the District Arts Walk at the end of April! The music enrichment group, along with several other chosen students, will be singing in the Jessamine Elementary All County Chorus.

A few of our Music Enrichment
Students will participate in a county arts program that meets on every early release day throughout the year. They will work on special music projects that will increase their learning in the arts and challenge them at a level above the regular arts classroom.
All of the elementary music teachers in the county work with these students.
