Dear Students and Families,
My name is Tabitha Braun and I am so thrilled to have your child in my 1st grade class this year! I am a graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. The 2014-2015 school year will be my 3rd year teaching! I am so excited to have you be apart of this experience with me! We are going to have such a great time together!
Over the course of this year, we will work together to master many different skills and concepts. We will learn skills such as adding and subtracting, properly composing a letter, using our schema when reading, and American symbols, just to name a few!
I stand firm in the belief that every student is unique and very important to me. My goal, as your child’s teacher, is to create a comfortable, student-oriented learning environment where all students can be successful. As your child’s teacher it is my job and my mission to meet the exact needs of your child in order to facilitate their learning and success. I make it a point in my classroom to integrate a variety of teaching techniques in order to accommodate the diverse learning styles that are inevitably present among any group of children. In my classroom, we will do hands on activities where we create things by using manipulatives (such as Unifix cubes). Sometimes we will write, and sometimes we will draw. I love what technology adds to the environment of a classroom, so we will incorporate technology into lessons as well. Your child will have the opportunity to work one on one with me, work cooperatively in small groups settings, and exercise the concepts learned individually.
My aspiration for the duration of this school year is that we can work together to ensure that you child is doing his or her work to the best of their ability. I would encourage you to take time each night to go over your child’s homework, and please, please read with your child each and every night! This is going to be a very exciting time for your child now moving on to 1st grade! I look forward to watching and witnessing your child grow throughout the year. I am always open to parent volunteers if you feel lead to become apart of our classroom! We would love to have you! Please don't ever hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I am so excited for this year’s adventures. This is going to be a great year!!
Sincerely, Mrs. Braun
