Day 7: Read a chapter of your semester book and write a half page (125 word) response in which you analyze the plot(series of events that the story uses to reveal conflict, crisis, and resolution). Be sure to mention only the most important aspects of the plot in your analysis.

Day 8: Read a chapter of your semester book and write a half page (125 word) response in which you analyze two or three striking passages from the book. Explain why you like the passage, why it’s so effective, and what it means.

Day 9: Read a chapter of your semester book and write a half page (125 word) response in which you analyze a symbol used in your novel. What is the object, name, or event that is symbolic? What bigger idea does it represent?

Day 10: Read a chapter of your semester book and write a half page (125 word) response in which you describe two to three passages which use imagery to good effect.
