Welcome to Miss Whyte's fourth grade classroom! I teach every subject except for science. I am lucky to partner teach with Mrs. Mary Bugg. She teaches science for both classes and I teach the math. I LOVE teaching math. It is my goal to have every student I teach look forward to math, or even better...LOVE it!

Let me take a minute to introduce myself. I am originally from Salt lake City, Utah. I moved to Lexington just before finishing 5th grade. By this time in my life (age 7 actually) I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I went to Eastern Kentucky University for my Bachelor's degree and Georgetown College for my Master's degree. I received my National Board Certification 10 years ago. This past year I successfully renewed my National Certification for another 10 years! I taught for 6 years in Lexington and then moved to Wilmore Elementary. I am so blessed to teach at Wilmore! I have made lifelong friends while teaching here.

In my free time, I LOVE to travel. Traveling within the United States or to different countries makes me so happy. I have a large bucket list of places I'd like to go! I spend lots of time with friends and family. I have a nephew, 3 nieces, a godson, and goddaughter that I love to play with and spoil! Reading is also a favorite past time of mine. I can spend many hours getting lost in a good book!

Fourth grade is an exciting year that is jammed packed with new units, skills, and activities! It can be challenging at times but with some hard work on your part and support from your teachers, every student will succeed!

Please look around and let me know if you have any questions!
