The WJHS Book Club hosted a Skype session with young adult author Alexander Gordon Smith. The club read his sci-fi/horror novel Lockdown: Escape from Furnace and had two book discussions before meeting the author via Skype. Mr. Smith spoke to the students about being a writer and how anyone could do it. He read the students a horror novel he wrote at age six and told stories about his childhood that inspired his novels. At the end of the chat, he allowed students to ask him questions about his life and his books. Students from the EJHS Book Club, their librarian (Jill Messer), and the teen librarian from Jessamine County Public Library (Kendall Haddix) also participated in the event.

Driver's Testing times and dates are controlled by the Kentucky State Police.  Effective January 9th written tests are given from 8:30-11:15 Mondays and Fridays only.  Appointments are taken for drivers.  Test by calling them on Mondays or Fridays from 8:00-10:00 at (859)887-1713.
