WJMS Families-

We want to continue to share timely information with you for the remainder of summer, so please be on the lookout for more frequent communication from us moving forward.

  1. Please be sure you have completed the district survey indicating your intent to send your student to WJMS In-Person or have them start the year in the Virtual Academy. The survey can be completed HERE. This information is crucial to our scheduling and staffing plan so please complete as soon as possible. The deadline is Tuesday, July 21. We know this decision is not easy. It is important to us that you and your family have all of the information that you may need to make an informed decision.  If you have specific questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to West Middle or visit the Jessamine County School FAQ webpage at: https://sites.google.com/jessamine.kyschools.us/fall2020

  2. If you are choosing to send your student to WJMS In-Person to begin the year, please be sure and plan accordingly now for them to wear masks. We know orders on face masks are taking much longer than expected, so please be sure to begin planning for them to have masks available to wear to school and throughout the school day.

  3. Also, if you are choosing to begin the year with us In-Person, it is urgent that we receive a special dietary needs form for any student who has food allergies/ restrictions.  This form must be signed by the child's doctor and list items to be substituted. The form is attached to the email and ONLY needs to be completed if they are coming In-Person and have dietary restrictions.

  4. For In-Person students- Please see link to grade level supply lists for 20-21. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1z3y_06vDXtWCm63PeRWVAmZmxzR7JqOy?usp=sharing

  5. For Incoming 6th Grade Students- We have rescheduled our MS 101 date for August 19 from 9-12. This would only be necessary for students who are planning on attending In-Person. We will do additional orientations for students planning on returning to us from Virtual at the end of each nine weeks.

  6. For all students- please make sure you are completing the Summer Math and ELA Enrichment Activities. They are on our website  HERE and are arranged by the grade students are entering in the 20-21 school year.

  7. Scheduling Update- As you can imagine, we are having to redo schedules to accommodate in-person and virtual classes and to the best of our ability, restructure some things to accommodate health and safety recommendations from the Kentucky Department of Education. Please be patient with us as we plan for these changes and make necessary adjustments. We anticipate schedules to be available on Infinite Campus on August 17. This is a rough estimate right now, but we will update you on progress.

  8. JELV Registration- We know there are families who still need to register for JELV Preschool and Kindergarten for the 20-21 school year. Please complete Online Registration on the district or JELV webpage. Then, stop by JELV July 20-22 between 9-12 to pick up a packet of paperwork to complete. The completed paperwork can be returned to JELV on July 23 from 12-2 or 4-6 in the car lane.

Please tell your students that we miss them and can’t wait for the day when we can all be together again in person.

Proud to be a Colt!
