High Attendance Day - Thursday, Sept. 24

Thursday, September 24th is High Attendance Day in the state of Kentucky! Help Jessamine County Schools achieve 100% attendance by being in school, on time, and ready to learn! Be looking for more information from your school about fun activities planned for the 24th.Your school could proudly hang the High Attendance banner for 2015!

Making school attendance a priority helps children learn good work and study habits that will serve them well now and throughout their lives. Regular school attendance also teaches children the ethics of responsibility and dedication and builds qualities they will need as they tackle increasingly more demanding school work in upper grades and face life-long challenges.

These character traits, along with strong academic and technical knowledge, are what today's employers say they value most in employees.

Let's be "All In" this year. All students and staff in attendance on Thursday, September 24th. We can do this!

Message from Supt Fields

The greatest lesson one can learn is to reflect upon the past and to use that knowledge to change the present.  One week ago, a threat against our student body and teaching staff was posed via email.  That threat set off a chain  of events involving the Nicholasville Police Department and the FBI.  While the details of the on-going investigation cannot be released publically, I can disclose that our district safety measures and protocols were and are followed daily and that students in our school system are safe.  No threat, big or small, is taken lightly and those who chance making a threat are being punished.

Again, a big thank you to our school resource officers, our local police departments, school administrators, parents and community members who rallied alongside our school district with a common message;  we will not be held hostage by threats nor will we allow our schools to be paralyzed by fear.  Our children are  precious and their safety is paramount.  Thank you for entrusting your children to Jessamine County Schools.

Join a JCS Strategic Visioning Committee

Jessamine County Schools is looking for people to serve on committees as part of its strategic visioning process. We’re in the midst of developing the plan to make sure every graduate is life ready. Parents, staff, and students have given us their ideas about how to make their education stronger. Now it’s time to develop the plan of action. Committees will meet from the middle of March to the end of April. Committees include curriculum, instruction, and assessment; academic support; staff development; student and family development; and community engagement. If you are willing to serve on a committee, please give us your name, contact information and committee preference. (If you’ve already given us your name, there is no need to re-submit.) http://bit.ly/svcommittee

-Count Me In Week – Let’s Win This!!!

  • Monday: Silly Sock Day
  • Tuesday: Tu-Tu Tuesday
  • Wednesday: Wacky Hair Day
  • Thursday: Twin Day
  • Friday: Super Hero Day

A Message from Superintendent Fields

A message from Superintendent Kathy Fields:
Jessamine County Schools, Nicholasville Police and the FBI continue to investigate the threat made against the students and staff of EJHS.  While safety protocols are followed daily, additional measures will be in place until this matter is resolved.

I am incredibly grateful to students, parents, staff, community members, and law enforcement officers who rallied around our district today in support.  We are a strong community.

Tomorrow, all buildings will be operating on schedule as planned and learning will continue to take place.

Our juniors will be demonstrating their best as they take the ACT.  "Count Me In Week" activities will continue.

As superintendent of schools, I promise that the person or persons responsible for this disservice to students, inconvenience to parents, and disrespect to our staff will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

February 25th is NOT an Early Release Day

BREAKING NEWS: Wednesday, February 25 will NOT be an Early Release. Wednesday will be a full instructional day.

This is NOT being done to make up time (with NTI, we haven't had to make up any of the days we have missed so far), but simply because our teachers are wanting as much time as possible with their students due to the excessive time out of the classroom.
