important Hep A Final Extension

JCS has extended the deadline for the student Hep A vaccine. The new date  will be October 1st..   This extension gives parents 4 more weeks through Sept. 28th to obtain what is needed for school. We have verified with local doctor offices as well as the health department and our school-based clinics that numerous appointment dates are available in September.

If the updated student immunization certificates are not received by Oct. 1, the students cannot return to school.

immunizations NEW IMMUNIZATION LAWS

New legislative changes regarding school immunizations went into effect in July 2017, and every student in our school district will be impacted by these changes. Each student will have to provide their respective schools with a new KY Immunization Certificate, which has been re-designed.  Even if the student has a Religious Exemption, he/she will be required to provide a new Religious Exemption form which now requires a notary signature and seal.
