Final Project – Elementary Helpers
For the final test grade in Elementary Helpers, you will complete an activity or project of your choosing that you agree upon with your cooperating teacher. This can be ANYTHING related to the elementary classroom or students that would be helpful to your cooperating teacher, but that goes above and beyond what you usually do during your Elementary Helper block. If you have Elementary Helpers for more than one period, you only need to complete one project.
Here are some ideas, but you can come up with your own project as well.
- Make a bulletin board display in the classroom or hallway
- Decorate the classroom door with a winter theme (or another theme of the teacher’s choosing)
- Read a book to the whole class
- Create an arts and crafts activity for the students to do
- Make a display of student work to hang in the classroom or hallway
- Organize (or straighten and reorganize) the teacher’s classroom library
- Organize the teacher’s supply cabinet(s)
- Help teach a lesson
- Help teacher deep clean the classroom for the end of the semester
Your grade will be based upon an evaluation by your cooperating teacher. They will assess you on the following criteria:
- Quality of product
- Helpfulness of project to students and/or teacher
- Effort put forth in completing project
- Openness to input from teacher
- Time management
You should complete this project on or before December 16th, 2019.
