At a special-called meeting on January 17, 2023, the Jessamine County Board of Education, pursuant to KRS 160.190, voted unanimously to appoint Denise Adams to serve in an interim capacity as the board’s District 4 representative. Denise served in this role from January 2019 through December 2022 and previously served as principal of The Providence School during a 30+ year career as an educator in Jessamine County. The appointment is effective immediately and will last until November 7 of this year when voters in District 4 elect a new representative.
“The board considered multiple applicants who all had strong characteristics that would have served the board well, but we ultimately chose to go with Denise to provide some continuity over the next 10 months and allow voters in District 4 a clean slate for choosing their next board representative in November,” said board chair Steven Scrivner. “We’re grateful for her willingness to continue serving on the board, as well as that of the other applicants to serve their community. We also want to thank Wilmore Mayor Harold Rainwater for serving as an advisor and providing a valuable perspective during our review of the applications.”
