West Jessamine High School Art I students are creating sculptures using the artist Henry Moore as an inspiration. They are doing some great work!

Earlier this year, our theatre departments applied to be part of The KPA Bradley Awards, and we’re thrilled to share that both West Jessamine and East Jessamine High Schools weee selected to participate! Think of The Bradleys as the minor league of Broadway theatre. Adjudicators—trained theatre professionals—will anonymously attend our shows, score performances, and provide detailed feedback. This incredible opportunity will help our students grow, stay motivated, and continue to raise the bar for excellence in the arts! All participating schools will attend The Bradley Awards Final Ceremony in Louisville in May 2026, where top schools and performers will be honored—some even performing on stage! We’re so proud of our West and East Theatre families and can’t wait to see them shine under the spotlight this year!

Our middle and high schools are kicking off the fall performing season with some great concerts! Please join us and support the students in our district. Concerts are free to the public!
Greek Drama Theatre Masks were created by the West Jessamine High School Theatre I class while studying The Golden Age of Greek Drama (5th Century BCE) and Sophocle’s play ANTIGONE. All actors wore masks and theatre was mandatory “church” to honor all the gods, but specifically Dionysus, the god of Theatre, wine, and agriculture! 🎭 Such great work!

1. West and East Jessamine High Marching Bands had top notch performances this weekend at their competitions.
2. EJHS Choirs participated in UK Choral Day
3. WJMS Choirs sang the National Anthem at the football game Friday night.
