My name is Troy Everett and I am so excited to join the team at East Jessamine Middle and have an opportunity to re-enter teaching! I'm looking forward to the challenges and rewards of a new school year.
I'm joining you after working in the logistics and financial sectors for several years after beginning my career teaching. I love literature and history and look forward to being able to share my interest with students.

My name is Samantha Jones and I am so excited to continue my teaching career as I join East Middle as your new Health Teacher. I have a deep passion for promoting healthy lifestyles and empowering students to make informed decisions about their well-being. I attended college at the University of Kentucky where I played D1 Softball for 4 years. Before teaching I was an NAIA and D1 Collegiate Softball Coach for 10 years. I have two sons, Parker and Asher, who will be joining the Jessamine County District. Hi! My name is Larkin Gensheimer and I have been blessed with the opportunity to continue my teaching career at East Jessamine Middle School! I will be joining the arts team as the full time drama teacher. I am so excited to be working with Ms. B, Mr. Mitchell and Ms. Banta on the musical this year, and I hope we can work together to produce a straight play in the near future. Additionally, I cannot wait to foster students passion for the arts not just in drama class, but in all facets East has to offer. Throughout my life, music and theater have been my passion, leading me to major in music education at the University of Kentucky. I am excited to share my passion for the theatrical arts with the students at East Jess and hope to show them drama is accessible to everyone.

Hi! My name is Denali Metoyer, and I am excited to be a part of East Middle! I can't wait to see our Jags creativity this year in the art room. I attend Eastern Kentucky University, where I studied art with a focus in painting. I love to garden and enjoy spending time with my family. I can't wait to meet everyone!
6th grade families: We are looking forward to Middle School 101 on Wednesday, August 7th! Doors will open at 8:30 AM and you may drop off your child anytime between 8:30 and when we begin at 9:00 AM. Breakfast and lunch will both be provided. Unfortunately we are not able to provide bus transportation, but ask that you arrive at 12:00 to pick up your child. This is optional, but should be a great opportunity for your child to meet their teachers, learn some of the procedures and expectations, and become more familiar with EJMS.

We are thrilled to announce Jenny Borders as the new Assistant Principal at East Jessamine Middle School. Having served as both a teacher and Instructional Coach, she is excited to continue serving at a school she loves and we look forward to the impact we know she will make!
We hope our EJMS families are having a great summer. The following parent update has information about online registration, office hours (for OLR assistance), medical information, supply lists, school fees, schedule availability, Middle School 101 for 6th grade, tours for new families, and SBDM parent member needed.
One significant change for next year is with Chromebooks. Rather than being assigned a Chromebook that will go home each day all students will have access to a device in each classroom throughout the day, but Chromebooks will stay in the classroom. This change will significantly reduce the number of broken devices and ensure that all Chromebooks last the full life.
