We had a great weekend with eighth grade semiformal and then EJMS Oscars with our teachers (huge thanks to PTO for both). We hope that you had a great weekend as well. We're looking forward to another fun spirit week this week so check the calendar for what students can wear each day to participate. We have band and choir concerts this week, plenty of athletic events, and the Sources of Strength Color Run that we hope all of our families will come out for on Friday. Meet our Dance Team Coach!
Hello! My name is Mckenzie Banta. I teach 6th grade writing, and I’m so excited to coach our dance team for the ‘24-‘25 school year. Years ago, I tried out for the EJMS dance team as a fifth grader and had a full 7 year dance career. I met my best friend, learned about what it means to be apart of a team, and made so many unforgettable memories. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to continue to support our Jaguars from the sidelines! Go Jags! 💙💚

Ms. McElfresh is a team player in every sense of the word, and her leadership is our school does not go unnoticed. She serves students and her colleagues well in all the roles she holds. Ms. Amburgey is this month's Data Diver! She demonstrates great awareness of her students' skills and plans instruction accordingly. Way to go, Ms. Amburgey!
This month's Teacher to See is Ms. Mahagan! Her classroom runs so smoothly with clear expectations and procedures and engaging writing activities. She maximizes time with her students to help them reach their full potential. Congratulations, Ms. Mahagan!

Congratulations to our very own, Stacy Amburgey, who is the JCS Middle School Outstanding Special Educator of the Year! Ms. Amburgey is a champion for students and we are all better for knowing her.

Our Rising Star this month is Ms. Harrell! She has worked so hard in her first year of teaching to bring Ag Science back to East, and we are grateful for her hard work building her curriculum and relationships with students!
