Notice is hereby given that Nicholasville Elementary intends to apply for the Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC Cycle 23 grant administered by the Kentucky Department of Education.
The purpose of this application is to secure funding to establish a Community Learning Center that provides students with academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours (after school and summer). In accordance with grant requirements, the program will focus on improving academic achievement in math and reading, providing enrichment activities such as STEAM and character education, and offering literacy and educational development services to the families of participating children.
Public Input: We welcome community input regarding the design and development of this proposal. If you have suggestions or would like to review the program goals, please contact Brittany Cox at brittany.cox@jessamine.kyschools.us.
The final application will be submitted to the Kentucky Department of Education by January 20, 2026.

Earlier this month, our academic team completed individual content assessments as a part of the pre-season Governor's Cup competition administered by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC). We are excited to share that KAAC has recognized Meredith Mays and Nathan Stevenson for their performance! Meredith placed among the top 30 of 331 testers statewide for general knowledge, and Nathan placed among the top 30 of 357 testers statewide for mathematics. Congratulations, Meredith and Nathan!
