We're so proud to announce the September Golden Eagles! 🦅 Our teachers were specifically looking for students who demonstrated an outstanding Work Ethic this month, and these students soared above and beyond!

A strong work ethic means showing persistence and perseverance, having a "get it done" attitude, and displaying commitment. Help us celebrate their hard work, reliability, and growth mindset!

- Think Critically to analyze the structure and plan their next move.

- Communicate Effectively with their team to execute complex building challenges.

- Develop a strong Work Ethic through perseverance and learning from mistakes.

These real-world competencies are preparing our students for future success in challenging, purposeful careers! We are so proud of their focus and collaboration as they tackle these complex problems.

Recently, when a staff member's car became disabled right as they arrived, a number of our wonderful RDES families and fellow staff members immediately stepped up to help them out. We are so incredibly grateful for the generosity and support shown by our community in a moment of need. It’s a perfect reminder that we're more than just a school, we're a true family!

Check out our latest student spotlight! We're recognizing students who are actively living out the Jessamine County Schools Graduate Profile characteristics! We'll be highlighting students who demonstrate key attributes like Work Ethic, Responsibility, Connected Citizenship, Successful Communication, and Critical Thinking.

Want to know exactly what it means to be a Connected Citizen who "positively impacts the community" or a Responsible student who "takes ownership" and "corrects mistakes"? Or maybe a Critical Thinker who is "innovative" and "solves problems"? Be sure to look at the image on each post to learn more about the specific characteristics the student is exemplifying and see how they are making a difference in their school and community!

Our 3rd graders in Miss Ferree's class were nuts about math recently! 🐿️ They were busy like squirrels, collecting nuts (knowledge!) and showing off their skills in adding, subtracting, rounding, and multiplication. These authentic moments of engagement allow our students' to feel supported, while also having each student's learning needs met!

What a wonderful way to celebrate a successful first nine weeks!

Our students have been SOARing and working hard to earn their Dojo Bucks, and today they cashed them in for fun rewards and a movie in the gym! We love seeing their strong Work Ethic pay off.

A special thank you to our incredible families and the PTO for their generous donations to the school store! Your support makes these rewards possible. This event truly highlights our caring school family! Watching our leadership students help the younger children with their purchases demonstrated fantastic Connected Citizenship and a spirit of support.

We want to send a huge shout-out to the Jessamine County Health Department for their vital partnership with RDES in providing our students with dental cleanings twice a year! This is a fantastic example of strengthening our community through leadership and service, one of the JCS Core Values.

Because of this collaborative effort, almost 20% of our RDES students were able to have their teeth cleaned and receive essential dental care! This helps us deliver on our commitment to providing a safe and healthy culture for our students.

If you have any questions about this wonderful program, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Andrews at emily.andrews@jessamine.kyschools.us or 859.885.6670.
