During STEM, 5th graders tackled the famous Pringles Ring challenge: build a free-standing ring using only chips from one can. This high-stakes activity fosters Innovative Learning, demanding creativity, problem-solving, structural engineering, and intense teamwork.
We love seeing our students apply mathematical and scientific principles to solve fun, real-world problems!

We are feeling extra grateful for our school family this week! A huge shout-out to our PTO for keeping our teachers fueled and hydrated with a wonderful spread of snacks and drinks. Your kindness makes our days a little brighter and reminds us how much we are supported.
We also want to celebrate the success of the Peppermint Patch! 🎁❄️ Thank you to the PTO volunteers who organized and ran this special shop, giving our students the opportunity to find the perfect gifts for their families. Watching our young "Connected Citizens" thoughtfully choose items for their loved ones is a highlight of the season.
At JCS & RDES, we believe students come first and families are our partners. Thank you, PTO, for all you do to make our school a joyful place to learn and grow!

Our 4th grade Art & Music enrichment students recently visited the Cedarhurst Senior Living center, and the energy was truly joyful! From performing musical pieces to sitting side-by-side with residents to create handmade crafts, our students demonstrated what it means to be a Connected Citizen in Jessamine County.
At JCS, we believe that learning happens best when students explore their passions while making our community a better place. Watching these young performers share their talents and "make someone’s day a little easier" is a beautiful example of our "We Are Family" pillar in action.
Thank you to Cedarhurst for welcoming us! We are so proud of these students for leading with kindness and excellence.

This hands-on Innovative Learning empowers our students to be critical thinkers and master core scientific concepts through real-world, active exploration. We love seeing their passion for learning!
