Our 5th-grade enrichment students have been hard at work with Mr. Moncer and Mrs. Campbell, tackling a hands-on engineering challenge! Students used their problem-solving skills to construct bubble wands, then headed outside to put their creations to the test.

At Rosenwald Dunbar Elementary School, our Eagles are always moving forward! Our Girls' Running Club has been working hard this season, meeting each week to build their athletic ability and grow in confidence.
Through hard work and perseverance, these young athletes are learning that they can embrace any challenge that comes their way. We are so proud of the supportive environment they’ve created for one another—proving that at RDES, we are truly a family that lifts each other up.
The finish line is in sight! The girls are currently preparing to complete a 5K together at the end of their season. Join us in cheering them on as they chase their goals!

Our 4th grade Eagles at Rosenwald Dunbar Elementary School are diving deep into the food chain! Recently in STEM class, students became real-world scientists as they dissected owl pellets. From identifying tiny bones to classifying their finds, these young explorers are seeing firsthand how nature stays in balance. 🦴✨

Tasting the Rainbow of Math! 🌈🍬
Our 3rd-grade Eagles in Miss Ludt's Class at Rosenwald Dunbar Elementary School are proving that math can be as sweet as it is smart! 🦅✨ Last week, they traded pencils for Skittles to dive into the world of fractions.
By sorting their candies by color, students created their own "delicious" data sets to identify parts of a whole. Whether it’s 2/10 yellow or 4/10 red, these hands-on moments help our students embrace new challenges and find joy in learning.
We love seeing our young learners grow into critical thinkers through such creative classroom experiences!

Join us in celebrating 2nd grader Dwight Greer for being recognized as a shining example of Connected Citizenship! As part of the Jessamine County Schools Graduate Profile, a connected citizen is someone who positively impacts their school and brings value to their community. According to his teacher, Mrs. Casto, Dwight lives out this pledge every single day!

Beyond their amazing talent, we are so grateful for the encouraging words they shared with our Eagles. At RDES, we strive to help our students find their passion and purpose, and seeing these student-athletes in action is a perfect example of where hard work and perseverance can lead.
