Our First Grade students had an absolute blast at their Curriculum Carnival! 🎃 From fall math bingo with Mrs. Boggs to an engaging scarecrow craft with Ms. Carlstedt, our young learners rotated through five fun-filled stations. They loved the pumpkin read-aloud and homemade playdough with Mrs. Maggard, dissolving mellowcremes in a cool science experiment with Mrs. Bohnett, and creating fine motor tissue paper pumpkins with Mrs. Orange. Thank you to our caring teachers for making learning so joyful!

What an amazing display of student Work Ethic and fun! Our principal, Mr. Payne, proved their commitment to RDES Students by letting students duct tape him to the wall!

Students worked hard for the first 9 weeks to earn their Eagle Bucks and purchased this unforgettable opportunity as a reward for their positive behavior. Seeing those joyful smiles is what it's all about!

This is a fantastic example of achieving Excellence for All in a fun and engaging way, showing that hard work pays off—and sometimes leads to being stuck to a wall! 😉

Our awesome 2nd graders have been tackling an amazing lesson in perseverance during STEM class. During our STEM challenge, students began class by listening to "The Magical Yet!" and discussing our growth mindset.

They discovered that sometimes things take practice, but that never means we should give up. They put their new growth mindset to the test with an epic cup stacking challenge—with a twist! They could only use popsicle sticks to stack! Talk about a challenge! 🤯

Mrs. Maggard's 1st grade class finished reading the decodable, "The Bug Glass," and then they became real-life scientists!

The students put their Critical Thinking and Work Ethic skills to the test as they went on a "buggy" exploration with magnifying glasses in hand! They were so joyful and engaged as they observed and learned about our tiny, fascinating friends.

This hands-on learning helps prepare our students to embrace challenges and discover their passions!

Look at these amazing first graders comparing and contrasting similar stories from different cultures! Ms. Carlstedt’s class used a Venn diagram to find what was the same and what was different in their reading. They’re developing their Critical Thinking skills by solving complex problems—in and out of the classroom!
