Why are our students so excited about multiplication? Because we're using real-world objects to make sense of new concepts! Miss Ferree's students used Skittles to model arrays, helping them visualize and understand the building blocks of multiplication. This hands-on approach makes learning stick!

We're so proud of our 5th-grade students in the Library & STEM enrichment groups! They've been hard at work using isometric paper to draw 3D shapes as a first step toward 3D modeling. This is just one of the many ways our students are learning to be innovative, resourceful, and dimensional thinkers.

We're excited to announce that we've purchased three 3D printers to bring their ideas to life and continue fostering their critical thinking skills! We can't wait to see what they create.

How do our words affect others online? That's a question our 1st graders have been exploring! They've learned that words have power, whether we're talking face-to-face or through technology. Using the Common Sense Media curriculum, students are learning the difference between helpful and hurtful words and practicing how to choose words that spread kindness. This is part of our STEM curriculum to prepare students to be Connected Citizens and Critical Thinkers!

Brushing up on our spelling skills! First graders are having a blast learning the FLOSS rule, also known as the FLSZ rule, by writing on mouth shapes and "erasing" with a toothbrush. This rule helps us remember to double the 'f', 'l', 's', or 'z' at the end of a one-syllable word that has a single short vowel. We love finding fun ways to learn and grow!
