He steps confidently into discussions, offering thoughtful insights that spark deeper thinking among his peers. His enthusiasm for sharing ideas, especially during science conversations, helps move learning forward and encourages others to jump in with new perspectives. Today we’re celebrating the power of lifting one another up — in our own homes and across our school community. Families shape the way children understand encouragement, confidence, and belonging, and the simple act of showing up for one another can have a lifelong impact. When we reached out to Tammy Hammond for a family photo, she sent us a picture of our football team — a reflection of how deeply she believes in supporting not just her own children, but every child she’s connected to. Her message is a beautiful reminder that celebrating growth, effort, and everyday wins strengthens our entire community. Take a look at her full reflection in the graphic and join us in thinking about today’s prompt:
Everyone loves to celebrate success! How does your family recognize achievements, big or small?

Preparing for life after high school means exploring many possibilities—college, trade schools, apprenticeships, and careers that may not even exist yet. Open conversations at home help students make thoughtful choices while still enjoying their high school years.

There’s something truly special happening at East Jessamine, and our recent state accountability results reflect the hard work and heart of our entire school community. Our students have pushed themselves to grow. Our teachers have poured in countless hours of instruction, support, and encouragement. Our families continue to stand beside us, cheering their students on. Our food service team keeps us nourished, our custodial staff keeps our school safe and welcoming, and our secretaries keep everything running with care and consistency each day.
Every person who touches this building plays a part in our success. Thank you for investing in our Jaguars, for believing in them, and for helping make East Jessamine a place where students can thrive. Check out all the ways we’ve grown…together.

Strong family connections don’t happen by accident — they grow through consistent, thoughtful communication. As part of #KyFamEngage25, we’re highlighting how our families stay connected even with busy schedules and multiple kids in different stages of life. This week, one of our East Jessamine families shared how they make intentional moments to check in, stay supportive, and keep communication flowing in meaningful ways. Their story reminds us that every family looks different, but making time to truly listen makes all the difference. Check out their full reflection in the graphic below and consider how you build two-way communication in your own home.

We are thrilled to celebrate Madeline, one of our incredible Students of the Month! Madeline is a shining example of a JCS Critical Thinker. In the classroom, she doesn't just look for the easy answer—she digs deeper, consistently applying her skills to tackle complex problems. Her commitment to exploring and understanding new concepts, especially in math, demonstrates the kind of rigorous inquiry we strive for in our students. Keep challenging yourself, Madeline!

This week, we are excited to celebrate four incredible educators who make East Jessamine High School a better place each and every day — Ms. Bradley, Mr. Wallace, Mrs. Conn, and Mrs. Coofer. Each of these teachers brings something special to our Jaguar community. They build strong relationships, create engaging learning environments, and consistently go above and beyond to support our students. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence shine through in everything they do.

Today we’re kicking off Family Engagement Week with Monday’s theme: Relationship Building! As our students move through their high school years, families play a huge role in shaping the relationships that will carry into adulthood. Today’s question asks: How do you support and guide your emerging adult while also helping them grow in independence? We’re grateful to Crystal Moore for sharing her perspective with us. Her thoughtful approach to fostering independence—while staying present, supportive, and connected—reminds us just how important these moments are as our students step into who they’re becoming. Families like hers show that relationship-building doesn’t end in childhood; it evolves. It becomes conversations, trust, boundaries, shared moments, and the steady reminder that home is a place of unconditional support. We invite you to join in today’s theme by sharing your own experiences below! #KyFamEngage25
