Kentucky Safe Schools Week may be wrapping up, but safety is always in session at East Jessamine! Today, we focused on the drills that keep our Jaguars prepared for anything, from fire and lockdowns to earthquakes and severe weather. Practicing together helps our students move quickly, stay calm, and look out for one another. Every drill is a reminder that safety is a team effort, and our school community is ready for whatever comes our way.

Having Kyle, our mental health counselor, on the team helps ensure that Jaguars have a trusted resource to turn to when life feels heavy. Mental safety means knowing you are supported, valued, and never alone, and that’s an important part of keeping our school community strong.

We have LOVED the turnout at our Jags athletic events! On Friday against Dunbar, Joey Schwenger and Matthew Padron led the student section in cheering our Jags through a nail-biter of a game. Shoutout to everyone who showed up—your energy makes the difference! Come out tonight for the boys’ soccer game as we celebrate our graduating class. There’s always a reason to cheer on the Jags!
