We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Sarah Sumner to East Jessamine High School as our new science teacher! Mrs. Sumner graduated with her teaching degree in Agricultural Education in 2017. Over the past 7 years, she went to grad school, worked in the nonprofit world, and took some amazing opportunities while focusing on her family. Throughout it all, she always believed she’d return to the classroom and dreamed of teaching in her hometown. As a 2014 graduate of West, she’s now become a proud Jaguar! Mrs. Sumner started substitute teaching in Jessamine County to find the best fit and fell in love with East. The students, the culture, and the open science position felt like the perfect match. With her background in agriculture, she brings a unique perspective to the science classroom, blending applied science with foundational concepts. Mrs. Sumner is excited to meet her students and watch them grow throughout the year. She’s already enjoying the curriculum and looks forward to creating an engaging atmosphere for learning. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Sumner is eager to support students at sporting events, plays, and other great endeavors at EJHS and in Jessamine County. In her free time, Mrs. Sumner loves gardening and dreams of owning land to grow even more. She’s been experimenting with different plants in the greenhouse her husband gifted her for Christmas (best gift ever!) Let’s give Mrs. Sumner a warm Jaguar welcome and look forward to an amazing school year together!

With 15 years of coaching under his belt, he's proud of our players and the program for their incredible accomplishments. Outside of the classroom and off the field, Coach Fields enjoys family time, traveling, spending days at Dale Hollow Lake, and football (of course). Coach Fields is excited to get back in the classroom and meet his new students. He is also excited to see the community come out and support our football program this fall! Let’s give Coach Fields a warm welcome. Get ready for a fantastic school year and football season!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes…there’s a transformation taking place at East High! With the support of Jessamine County Schools and the JCS School Board, we are hitting the refresh button on some parts of our campus. The tennis courts are getting a complete makeover and we are excited to welcome a new space for our tennis team to serve up some aces! Both our baseball and softball fields will be getting turf fields! And finally, we will be getting a new band tower, which will give us a whole new perspective for our marching band! We look forward to the transformations as we continue to support our athletes and arts students. Let's go Jaguars!
