JELV recently recognized some very special staff members for exemplifying the 3 anchors of JELV's mission: High Quality Instruction, School Culture & Climate, and Family Engagement. Nicci Turner, Jessie Snyder, and Katy Frederick received the Highly Effective Teaching & Learning Award for their dedication to inspiring & empowering students to reach their fullest potential. 📚✨ Peyton Alcott and Kim Barnhardt received the School Culture & Climate Award for fostering an environment of growth, kindness, and community spirit, where every student and staff member feels valued and respected. 🤝💖 Lori Barkley & Stephanie Whitaker received the Family Engagement Award for building strong meaningful partnerships with families, strengthening the connection between home & school. 🏡📘 Please join us in congratulating these extraordinary staff members for their contributions to our school community!

Lisa goes above and beyond to make learning fun and engaging for students. Part of our mission as JCS students is to be Connected Citizens. As a community service project, Ms. Turner’s class has chosen to support the Jessamine County Animal Shelter.🐾 They are collecting much-needed items from the shelter’s wish list to help provide comfort and care to animals in need. Want to lend a paw? 🐶🐱 Simply send in an item from the wish list (pictured) with your student in their backpack or drop it off at the JELV front office. 📅 Donations will be accepted until Thursday, April 3, 2025. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! 💙

Join us for Touch A Truck Saturday, April 26th. Food will be available for purchase, but otherwise this is a FREE event. There will also be several drawings for giveaways valued at $100 each! Registration is required to be entered to win giveaways.

❄️ Happy Traditional Snow Day! ❄️ We’d love to see how your family is making the most of this traditional snow day! This means all snow fun and NO NTI work! Need some fun-filled ideas to keep the snow day magic alive? Try one (or more!) of these snowy activities, then share a picture or video through JELV's Facebook page or sending an email to your child's teacher—we can’t wait to see the fun! ✨ Snowy Name Writing – Grab a stick or use your fingers to write your name in the snow. Can you try a friend’s name too? 🎨 Snow Color Mixing – Fill spray bottles with water and food coloring, then spray the snow to see what new colors you can create! 🎯 Snowball Toss – Set up a target (a bucket, hula hoop, etc.) and see how many snowballs you can land inside. ✂️ Indoor Snowflake Creations – Use paper and scissors to craft beautiful snowflakes and decorate your home with a winter wonderland touch. 📖 Hot Cocoa Storytime – Cozy up with a warm cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a winter-themed book together. ❄️ Stay warm, have fun, and don’t forget to share your snow day adventures with us! ⛄📸
