Mrs. Figg's class practiced being Connected Citizens during Kindness Week! They collected items to donate to the Jessamine County Animal Control Center. A few students were able to join Mrs. Figg when she dropped off their donated items. We love seeing our students and families helping our community!

Mrs. Goggins (art) and Mr. Schatko (music) have been teaming up to teach a variety of concepts this year. Currently, 5th grade students are practicing Japanese Sumi-e art during their art rotation and doing Taiko drumming during their music rotation.

A huge thank you goes to Crosswoods Baptist Church for providing lunch for our staff today! We appreciate you!

Some of our 4th grade Art Enrichment students had the opportunity to explore digital art with tablets that were donated to the art room. We are grateful that our students get to be exposed to a variety of art styles!

"I Love to Read" week is next week! Here's a peek at what is ahead!

With each Specials rotation, our 4th & 5th grade students get to enjoy some enrichment groups. Enjoy some pictures from our Tech Enrichment. Students get to explore many different interests during this time including coding, digital art, and even digital science experiments!

Our 1st graders are SO excited to share their creativity with their families! They will perform their concert on Thursday, February 27th and their artwork will also be on display!

We'd like to thank Unify Coffee for partnering with RDES and sharing these random acts of kindness! Stop by Unify Coffee this weekend to try to grab a cup of coffee with some encouraging words from our students!

Enjoy these "Wellness Wednesday" pictures from Mrs. Boggs' class! She was awarded a Jessamine County Education Foundation (JCEF) grant so each child received a yoga mat, resistance band, and some new ball seating in the classroom. So far, they've had Jazzercise with Ms. Alex, Mindfulness training from Mr. Collier, and lots of movement breaks/flexible seating with their items!

Some of our staff members wore the "Always be Kind" shirts during Kindness Week. These shirts were created as a collaborative project between JCS schools. The student who created the letter for RDES is featured in our image.

Mrs. Orange's Class recently started their math unit on collecting and analyzing data. One of their first lessons focused on sorting shapes and learning there are many different ways to sort - not just by shape name.

Our first graders use Code 'n Go mice to practice directional coding during STEM. These students had a great time watching their mouse, Colby, get to his cheese wedge!

Our 4th graders enjoyed celebrating National Hot Chocolate Day!

Several of our classes enjoyed celebrating both the 100th day of school and the 101st day of school! Check out some of their fun activities and outfits!

Some of our friends made their own socks for Crazy Sock Day! We love the creativity!
