Hello EJMS Family and Friends -
We have made it to our first week of testing. We'll kick off the hard work with some fun in a pep rally today and then cannot wait to see our students shine as they show what they know and what they've learned this year! It's hard to believe that we only have three weeks left of school; this is a great time to be sure that any missing work or library books are taken care of and that all Chromebook repairs have been made and paid for as needed. We look forward to a great week and hope you do too!

When you see him around today, give him a huge THANK YOU for all he does! #proudtoroar

EJMS Shout Out - One of our favorite past times at EJMS is celebrating our students and staff. We have heard from several families looking for the best way to highlight staff members in the building in light of Monday's events. Please use this form to write a kind word or share a positive story to thank a staff member(s) in our building. Your feedback helps us recognize and appreciate their contributions!
Teacher Appreciation week begins next Monday, May 5-9th. This is a great way to lead into a week dedicated in celebration of their service to our school community!

Sources of Strength Peer Leaders from across the district were recognized tonight at the JCS Board Meeting. These leaders represent themselves and so many more who foster kindness, compassion, and trustworthiness in their schools and among their peers. They are true leaders, and have a special skill of advocating for others. Our very own East Middle leaders present at the meeting tonight were 7th grade students, Tiffany Long and Lee Williams. We are so proud of all of our Peer Leaders for the work they do to make our schools a kinder place ♥️

Dear EJMS Family and Friends -
We hope that you enjoyed the weekend. We are down to the last four weeks of school and they will be packed! This week will include the spring band concert and our EJMS Annual Matball Tournament on Friday, so we hope that we'll see you and your families here then. Spring sports are still going strong and there are several try out opportunities as well. Have a great week!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the best three in the business! Thank you to Mrs. Thomasina, Mrs. Hager, and Mrs. Wallace for keeping EJMS afloat every day! We appreciate all you do each day to make our community here at East stronger, to serve the students of EJMS, and for always having a smile on your face! We appreciate you all so much! Thank you! #proudtoroar

Did you know that EJMS iReady Reading was 5th in the state for highest median growth at mid-year? What an amazing accomplishment for our scholars! Our teachers and students have worked so hard this year and we are beyond proud and excited to celebrate this amazing accomplishment! #proudtoroar 💙💚

Look what our students have built together! The Trusted Adult Wall in front of our school is now filled with names of the caring adults our students identified that they can count on — from parents and family members to teachers, coaches, and neighbors. This powerful visual shows just how important connection and trust are in their lives.
As parents and caregivers, you play a huge role in helping kids feel supported, seen, and safe. Take a moment today to ask your child: “Who are the trusted adults in your life?” It’s a great way to open the door for meaningful conversations and strengthen those vital connections.

What an amazing Spring Showcase! Thank you to everyone who showed up and got to celebrate all the wonderful things our scholars are doing at EJMS! The support and community on the East side is unmatched! Thank you all for a wonderful night! #proudtoroar

Our Sources of Strength Color Run would not have been possible without the amazing collaboration of so many dedicated people and groups across our district. A huge shout-out to Betsy Montgomery and the East Middle Counseling Team for their vision and leadership bringing us into our 4th annual event We're grateful for the enthusiastic support of the East Jessamine Staff and PTO, the inspiring Sources of Strength team leads from across the district, our incredible Peer Leaders, and our valued community partners. Together we are building strength and spreading positivity throughout our community through the 8 SOS pillars at the heart of the program: Family Support, Positive Friends, Mentors, Healthy Activities, Generosity, Spirituality, Physical Health, and Mental Health.

We can't wait to see you tomorrow! Looking forward to celebrating all the achievements of our Jaguars! #proudtoroar
