We are teaching all of our students to be good communicators at Warner since it's such an important life skill. Recently, some of our students put their communication skills to work as they offered teachers coffee from their Cozy Cup Cart!
Our 5th graders experienced a fantastic trip to Mammoth Cave today as a culmination of their study of Black History in Kentucky! They read the book, Journey to the Bottomless Pit, a story about Stephen Bishop who was one of the first people to explore and map Mammoth Cave. Today, they explored the cave themselves. Thank you to Mrs. Kennedy and our other staff members for providing our students with such a meaningful learning experience!

🍩We had 188 men join us for our Donuts with Dudes event! A special thank you goes to Greg Robinson with Bimbo Bakeries for donating the delicious donuts. We are grateful for all of the men in our Warner family!
🪐The mobile planetarium experience was a hit for all of our students today! We learned a lot about our galaxy, the sun, the moon, the planets, and space exploration. It was out of this world!
Our fourth graders in Mrs. Classen's class have enjoyed hands-on science stations learning about fossils. They also had a blast making edible sedimentary rocks!
❤️All of our 3rd graders demonstrated kindness this week by making 200 valentine cards with chocolates for the residents of the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore!
❤️Our students wrote valentines to their hearts today in STEM class to show appreciation for these very important organs in our bodies! They learned about how our hearts pump blood and what our hearts really look like. They even practiced taking their pulses before and after jogging in place. It was a real world learning experience for everyone!
Mrs. Meeker, Mrs. Price, and Ms. Cawood enjoyed another entertaining performance by our Twirl Jessamine baton team this weekend!
Our third graders have been learning about forces and motion during science. Mrs. Webb's class made models of a trapeze in order to determine how high you can swing on a flying trapeze.
🚗Our 5th graders thoroughly enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Plant in Georgetown! They observed the car-making process from start to finish in the factory and learned about Toyota's core values that guide their business. The Toyota staff commented that we have an amazing group of students with wonderful behavior and thoughtful questions!
Our Twirl Jessamine baton club performed beautifully during the youth basketball games this weekend! We are grateful to Coach Donna Daniel and Mrs. Jordan, our Family Resource Coordinator, for providing our girls with this special opportunity!
🏆WOW! Our Warner Academic Team finished as runner-up in the District Governor's Cup competition today! We had several students earn medals for their content area tests with a few students earning 1st place. Also, our quick recall team finished in 2nd place. Many thanks to Mrs. Woodard and Ms. Allen for serving as coaches and providing this great opportunity for our kids. On to the regional competition!
Our 5th graders were highly engaged in their interactive math lesson on dividing decimals with Mrs. Woodard and her student teacher, Ms. Anders!
Mrs. Metzenberg's class recently performed reader's theater plays for their classmates. The students read their parts from a script, and they used props to act out the stories in small groups. What a fun way to practice their reading skills!
