A little late to the paw-ty, but we couldn't let National Dog Day (August 26) pass without celebrating our favorite furry friend, Arie! 🐾 We are so lucky to have our amazing therapy dog on campus, always ready with a wagging tail and a listening ear. Arie brings so much comfort and joy to our school. We love you, buddy! ❤️ #WJHS #NationalDogDay

Graduate Profile Student Spotlight: Work Ethic✨

🐻🏛️ Mr. Botts' AP Gov class took on a new twist! Yesterday, they used gummy bears to break down the different types of democracy. Who knew government could be so sweet?

Continuing to appreciate our SLPs by giving you an insight into their focus and role! #SLPappreciation

Today, we are thrilled to recognize one of our freshman, Greenleigh Eldridge, for exemplifying the Critical Thinking graduate profile attribute in her math class! 🧠 This attribute is all about being an innovative problem-solver, and Greenleigh embodies this by using what she learns to move forward and create new solutions. She consistently demonstrates her resourcefulness and open-mindedness, showing a deep respect for evidence and reasoning. By taking time to observe the situation and show positive risk-taking, Greenleigh is a true model of a thoughtful and engaged student. #JCSgraduateprofile

Beautiful week ahead and so many opportunities to come out and support your Colts!

This week, we want to recognize the critical role our Speech and Language Pathologist plays in our school community. Our SLP for WJHS is Ms. Katie Travis and we are so thankful for her! The specialized support you provide, from articulation and language development to social communication skills, is fundamental to student success. We are grateful for your professional and compassionate work that makes a meaningful difference every day. More to come this week about the integral part SLPs play in our school!

Starting the week strong with an important lesson! Our health classes collaborated with the Youth Service Center's Mrs. Andrews for a valuable session on healthy relationships. Students took a personal inventory to identify their strengths and weaknesses and gained insight into what positive relationships look like in today's society. They walked away with valuable information to apply in their own lives. Thank you to the YSC for their partnership! ❤️

The Lady Colts soccer team traveled to Gatlinburg this weekend and is bringing home the championship of the Smokey Mountain Cup!

Check out the students from WJHS who earned an academic honor from the College Board National Recognition Program for their strong performance on @CollegeBoard assessments and hard work in high school. Achieving academic success is the hard part. Being recognized for it should be easy. We had too many to recognize on one post, so make sure to check out both!

Today in Mrs. Onkst's AP Literature class, students dove into a compelling Socratic Seminar to discuss "The Man in the Well" by Ira Sher. It was an incredible experience to watch them navigate the story's complex themes, asking profound questions and building on each other's insights. This is what critical thinking is all about! #JCSgraduateprofile #criticalthinking

Always so grateful for the generous donations from our community members! These supplies assist our YSC in supporting students in need! Thank you to the kind individual or group who brought these to Mrs. Andrews today and for investing in our students!
