In an effort to get our students safely back to school, JCS will utilize an alternate transportation plan to resume in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. A number of roads remain unsafe for our buses to navigate and it will be necessary for students who live in those areas to meet their buses in an alternate location. A list of those locations is below. For those students on the alternate/cancelled routes or any families that feel that it is unsafe to travel, please reach out to your school attendance clerk and we will work with you to accommodate. Alternate locations include the following: ~Gayheart Ln, Beverly Ln, & Langford Pass will meet at corner of Little Hickman & Gayheart ~Watts Mill & the Sugar Creek side of Brumfield Ln will meet at the corner of Watts Mill & Sulphur Well ~The Little Hickman side of Brumfield Ln will meet at the corner of Little Hickman & Brumfield Ln ~McGee Ln will meet at the corner of Leatherwood & McGee ~Vineyard Rd will meet at the corner of Vineyard & Danville Rd Loop 1 ~Marble Creek Ln will meet at the corner of Marble Creek & Logana ~Young Drive, Cool Breeze, Pine Grove, Lee Dean will meet the bus at the connection of Ashgrove & their road ~Camp Daniel Boone will meet at the store on Newman Rd ~Buses are unable to travel at all on Lock 8 or Spurlock Road and we will not be able to provide transportation to students on those roads Please let us know if you have questions or concerns. We're excited to welcome our students back to campus tomorrow!

Our team has been out checking roads this afternoon and evening and unfortunately, we've found that the large majority of the county roads and turnaround locations that our buses travel are not currently safe for our buses to navigate. Due to these conditions, Monday, January 13, 2025 will be NTI Day #5 for Jessamine County Schools. JCS childcare will be open from 8-5:30 at NES for those students who are pre-registered for NTI care. AD's will communicate regarding athletic practices and games. The Board of Education Special Meeting (6 p.m.)and Work Session (6:10 p.m.) will be held as scheduled.

Jan 13, 2025 NTI Day 5
We know many families are anxiously awaiting news about school tomorrow, and we wanted to provide an update. Access to bus turnarounds is crucial and a number of them in the county are still snow covered. With warmer temperatures, sunshine, and the continued efforts of road crews, we're hopeful that road conditions will improve throughout the day. Our team will be out this afternoon and evening checking roads to monitor progress. We’ll share an update about Monday with our district family as soon as possible. We’re excited to welcome our students back on campus, and safety will remain our top priority in making this decision. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

We know that many of our families rely on child care, and we’re committed to giving you as much notice as possible when school schedule changes occur. Our team has been out assessing road conditions and bus turnarounds, and based on current conditions, continued snowfall, and additional snow expected through Friday, Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10, will be NTI Days for JCS. The child care program at NES will be open Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM for pre-registered students. We will share an update on Friday’s child care availability once we have more information about the incoming weather. Athletic Directors and coaches will communicate any updates regarding practices or games. Please stay safe and warm!

NTI days Jan 9th and 10th
We hope everyone is staying safe and warm as we navigate this week’s winter storm. Due to continued concerns with road conditions and low temperatures, Wednesday, January 8th, will be NTI Day 2 in Jessamine County. (NTI Day 1 was back in November.) For families experiencing power outages, we want to reassure you that students will have extra time to complete their NTI assignments. Your family’s safety and well-being come first, and we will work together to ensure that students can stay on track. Our teachers will be available via email to offer assistance and support with assignments throughout the day tomorrow. If you or your child have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. In addition, JCS Childcare will be open for students that are pre-registered and have a confirmed NTI spot from 8-5, and Athletic Directors will communicate with coaches and teams about athletic events. We appreciate the crews who are working tirelessly to restore power, clear roads, and keep our community safe. Your efforts are deeply appreciated and make a difference in helping us return to in-person instruction as soon as possible.
