Congratulations to Palmer Schmidt- WJHS Class of 2025. Palmer was one of 2 Kentucky students named a Presidential Scholar. He was selected from 3.9 million graduates and 6,400 qualified applicants. The selection was based on his academic work and his exceptional scores on the ACT. Palmer completed his high school work at The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Math at Morehead State. Way to go Palmer!

Shoutout to our true WJHS School Heroes—our amazing custodial team! They are the backbone of our campus, working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our building running smoothly and looking pristine. Today some of our student athletes attended the HYPE conference in Lexington. There they networked with other students, learned how to maximize their leadership skills, and participated in several team activities. Our Colts are the best!

Senior season is in full swing! 🎓 Our students had a productive lunch today, visiting with representatives from Wofford College and Northeastern University. They also took a huge step by placing their cap and gown orders and some even walked away with some new gear from Herff Jones! #classof2026

Congrats to our ladies golf team- 2025 region runner-up! Bethany Warren and Carol Ann Mendenhall tied for 5th place individual. On the semi-state next week.

Did you know students have the ability to sign up for a variety of Colt Academy offerings each day? One of today's offerings was a Q & A with a Vanderbilt University rep! Students took the opportunity to learn and ask questions about campus, offered majors, and student life!
