Get ready to spread some holiday cheer! 🎄 Tomorrow is Christmas Attire Day! Don't forget to wear your favorite festive outfit to school. Let's make it a holly jolly day! 🎅

We've got one week to winter break! Let's kick it off with a PJ day! See everyone tomorrow morning! 🌲

Congrats to the Lady Colts- champions of the Billy Hicks Classic! Kim, Claire, and Isabella with all tournament honors.
Go Colts!

Santa even stopped by to partner with Mrs. Stevens, our librarian, to read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to some of our students, make a holiday craft, and eat some delicious cookies...his favorite! We are having SNOW MUCH FUN!

The West side is getting in the holiday spirit this week for the door decorating contest! Our school looks like a winter wonderland!❄️

'Tis the season! Pictures with Santa🎅 are the best...but they're even better with PANCAKES!🥞

A wonderful concert by WJHS choirs tonight! Thanks for putting us in the holiday spirit.

Interested in WJHS Boys Volleyball? The KHSAA Inaugural Season is coming soon! Tryouts are listed below!

Our staff highlight this week is a true gift to us all, no matter the season! Mr. Daughterty currently works alongside Mrs. Elliott in our front office, greeting parents and guests, making announcements and educating us all day long. He does so as a volunteer and expects nothing in return. His reliability, wisdom, and loyalty are second to none! He graduated from JCHS in 1967 and has been at WJHS "since it came into being" (in his own words). He was at Jessamine County Junior High and Jessamine County High School for 34 years prior to that teaching Political Science, World Civilization, Law & Justice and World Geography. Ms. Elliott says he has worked alongside her since 2006 and she has loved every moment! Mr. D says his favorite thing about West High is the sense of loyalty he feels to the school and the ability to work with such an incredible staff, some of those he was blessed to teach. We are so appreciative that Mr. Daughterty is a Colt!

It's a busy week for West High sports! We'd love to see you at a game or competition!

Kicking off our Monday with some positivity and a giving spirit! Our National Honor Society students spread some warmth last week by crafting blankets for the veterans at Thomson-Hood Veterans' Center. ❤️ They plan to deliver them this week! We love the giving spirit of our students!

Both Colts basketball teams have started the year 2-0. The Lady Colts with an OT win tonight over Southwestern 60-59 and the boys win 69-57 over ranked Pulaski County!
Check out the wrestling team @ WJHS in tomorrow's tournament
Go Colts!

Congrats to our Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) participants who had their Bluegrass Bill passed by the assembly!

Welcome back, Colts! December is here, and this month, we're celebrating the power of communication! 🗣️ Our Graduate Profile focus is on effective communication skills. Whether it's speaking, writing, or listening, strong communication is key to success. Let's empower our students to be confident communicators!
