SENIOR DECISION DAY - DONATIONS NEEDED!
Senior Families & Community Members:
🎓We will hold our annual Decision Day for seniors on May 18th! This event celebrates our seniors and their post–high school plans—whether that’s trade or technical school, the military, college, or entering the workforce!
🎓We are seeking donations such as dorm items, gift cards, electronics, or other helpful gifts for students starting their next chapter. Last year, parents alone donated over $1,750, making our prize drawings extra special!💥
🎓If you’re willing to contribute, please complete this FORM. Donations can be dropped off at the WJHS front office or guidance office by May 11. Businesses will also receive a social media shoutout for their support!

Kentucky State Representative Matt Lockett honored Dean Geary (WJHS athletic trainer) at our board meeting last night. Mr. Geary was recognized for stepping in and saving a life at a recent game. In a moment that truly defined leadership, quick thinking and courage made all the difference.
Some wins go beyond the scoreboard—and this was the ultimate save. 👏🏽🏆

Though postponed by weather more than once, tonight the JCS School Board took a few minutes at their meeting to recognize our fall athletes for their outstanding work.
The fall season was the most successful in history at West High and we couldn't be more proud of our students-athletes and coaches!
Athlete Trainer Dean Geary was also recognized with a proclamation from Representative Matt Lockett for his quick thinking to save a fan at a game in February.
Well done, Colts!

In Ms. Hawley’s Physics class, students are currently studying circuits and the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance.
Yesterday they brought the lesson to life with a Van de Graaff generator, exploring how static electricity can transfer from person to person and learning why you sometimes get shocked when touching a light switch in the winter.
It was definitely a **shocking** lesson! ⚡️(See what we did there?)

Yesterday was a phenomenal day for our JAG students!
JAG President Freddy Sanchez and Vice President Jonathan Hammie met with Representative Adam Moore to discuss how JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) helps students discover their path after high school.
Freddy and Jonathan shared how JAG has impacted their lives and their future plans. Proud of them for representing our program so well and of Mr. Tyler who truly makes this curriculum meaningful to our students! 👏
