Mrs. Orange’s 1st graders have been diving into the wonders of human anatomy! Last week, our young scientists got hands-on with a creative project, crafting custom masks to represent the human skull.
Through this interactive activity, our Eagles learned how the skull protects us and explored its main structural parts—including the cranium and the jaw bones! Seeing our students take charge of their learning and connect science concepts through art is what striving for excellence is all about.

Mrs. Presley has created a special addition to our weekend food bag program this year! With the help of our 5th graders in the Rogers/Presley Room, we are putting together Birthday Blessing Boxes for our students. This is part of our Connected Citizenship initiative, which is a component of the JCS Graduate Profile program. A special "thank you" to Crosswoods Baptist Church for helping us gather the materials to get this program started.
Each Birthday Blessing Box will include everything needed to celebrate a special birthday at home: an aluminum foil pan, cake mix, frosting, plates, candles, and a can of Sprite to use in place of eggs and oil.
For students who receive our weekend food bags, these boxes will be sent home during their birthday month, helping ensure that every child has the opportunity to celebrate their special day.
